Hildi reaches up to the herbs which are drying over her fire in the kitchen, to make these - especially when Snorrie Magnus comes knocking! Nom-nom-nom!
- 250g sr flour + 1 level tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1-2 tsp mixed herbs
- 50g butter or margarine
- about 150ml milk
- greased baking sheet
- Heat oven to 200ºC.
- Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a baking bowl.
- Add the herbs.
- Rub in the butter with your fingertips, until the mixture has no big lumps.
- Stir in enough milk to make a fairly soft, light dough.
- Roll out to about 3cm thick and cut into rounds with a cutter.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Cut in half and spread with butter. Eat warm or cold.
